SOOOO..... WHO AM I?
ASHTON PERSICK
Graphic Designer and Professional Silly Goose
I CHOSE TO become a graphic designer because not only did it combine my love for art and my fascination with the psychology of marketing, but because graphic design is a way to bring beauty and art into the average everyday experience.
Since I made that decision my senior year of high school, I have learned the tools of the trade and soaked up any tips and tricks I could like a sponge! Not only has my art education at Southeastern taught me the technical skills I need to succeed in a career, but also the social ones. Through continuous insightful critiques and networking with my design peers, I have learned to easily adapt and evolve in regards to both my designs and interpersonal communication.
Outside of school, I have gained practical skills through working with clients like the Columbia Theatre of the Performing Arts and the Carnival Coast Hibiscus Society, communicating back and forth in order to craft the perfect designs that represent their brands. Over the summer of 2024 I was honored to be able to intern with the Marketing Design team at Lamar Advertising in Baton Rouge. It was there that I was introduced to the corporate side of graphic design, being taught by design professionals where I learned industry techniques and how to communicate with clients on a professional level.
With all this experience combined with my education, I can now confidently say I am adept at using the major Adobe programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects, and I am confident in my ability to properly communicate with clients and work with others.
